Synopsis

At just 14 years old, Iruma Suzuki's deadbeat parents literally sell him to a demon. That's his life. The twist is that the demon, Sullivan, doesn't want to eat him — he just really, really wants a grandchild. So now Iruma is enrolled at Babyls, a prestigious school for demons, trying not to get devoured while Sullivan spoils him rotten as the school's headmaster. The whole joke is that Iruma just wants to keep his head down and survive, but the universe keeps throwing him into the spotlight. He accidentally casts a forbidden spell during a ceremony, befriends the most intense honor student in school (Alice Asmodeus), and gets adopted by Clara Valac, who has the energy of a golden retriever on espresso. It's a 23-episode TV series from Bandai Namco Pictures, adapted from a shounen manga, and the comedic timing is genuinely solid. The animation has this bright, expressive style that leans into the absurdity rather than fighting it, and the demon world's power system with magical abilities and artifacts gives it more depth than you'd expect from the premise. The vibe is warm and youthful — stakes exist but nothing crushes your soul. If you liked the fish-out-of-water comedy in The Devil Is a Part-Timer or the monster-school setup of Rosario + Vampire but wanted something with a bit more heart, this lands in that sweet spot. It's the kind of show that's easy to start and hard to stop watching.

Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun is such a warm and wonderful fantasy anime. The kind and timid Iruma accidentally enters the demon world and starts a funny and heartwarming school life. The story is lighthearted and relaxing, with lovely and charming characters. It is full of funny daily moments, friendship, growth and courage to chase dreams. The art style is cute and the soundtrack is amazing. It always feels comforting to rewatch, truly an unforgettable hidden gem.

I honestly liked Sabnock's introduction here, because it kinda flips everything that typical anime rival characters usually are in a massive way.

I also loved how Iruma is just kind and even though he's scared, he's not cowardly in a way. And he does it without expectations.
Ending the season on an unexpected cliffhanger was a brilliant move, it will really keep you hooked for the next season. Also, the dynamic friendship between the three & seeing them grow closer together was truly the highlight. It was both an exciting & deeply satisfying wrap-up.
