Burn Up Excess
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Terrorism is a serious problem in Neo-Tokyo, and its solution is Team Warrior — a special police unit that's equal parts competent and chaotic. You've got Rio, a martial arts specialist who spends her entire paycheck before it clears; Maya, a sniper whose love for firearms borders on romantic; Lilica, a hacker who can crack anything; Nanvel, the engineer keeping their gear functional; Yuji, their pilot who's also the team creep; and Maki, their composed leader who somehow holds all of this together. When robotic insects start seizing hostages at Neo-Tokyo Tower, Team Warrior is the response. That's your first two episodes, and it sets the tone perfectly — high-tech threats met with genuine tactical skill and absolutely unhinged team banter. The show runs 13 episodes and keeps things moving, cycling through missions while quietly building toward a larger conspiracy involving corrupt officials and advanced weaponry. If you grew up watching Dirty Pair or Bubblegum Crisis, this feels like a natural companion — same era, same energy of capable women in a sci-fi setting with a comedic undercurrent. Gunsmith Cats fans will also feel at home with the weapons enthusiasm and street-level action. It's a 1998 TV series from Magic Bus, and it shows its age in the best way: hand-drawn action, punchy comedic timing, and a team dynamic that actually works. Don't expect deep lore. Expect a fun, fast police procedural with a futuristic edge and characters who are genuinely entertaining to spend time with.
