The way how they delivered the finale was superb. The action here was one of the best animated in this season, the sequences were fluid and the scale and danger were impressive. The closing was perfectly balanced between the plot, momentum, character warmth, and a final comedic beat that made me feel lighthearted.

Synopsis
Thanks to an old deal his parents made with a goddess, Makoto Misumi gets isekai'd into a fantasy world — and the first thing that happens is the goddess calls him ugly, strips away his hero title, and dumps him in the middle of nowhere. Not exactly the warm welcome most isekai protagonists get. She does give him one thing though: the ability to understand every language in the world except the human one. So instead of hanging out in kingdoms and adventurer guilds, Makoto ends up befriending monsters, dragons, and demi-humans in the wastelands. Turns out his magic power is absurdly overpowered in this world, and he starts building his own little community out there on the fringes, completely off the goddess's radar. His first major companion is a dragon named Shen who becomes so fascinated by Makoto's memories of Japan that she takes human form and sticks around as Tomoe. The dynamic between Makoto and his growing crew carries the show — there's genuine warmth mixed in with the comedy and solid action sequences. If you liked That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime's nation-building vibe or the "rejected hero" angle from The Rising of the Shield Hero, this hits a similar sweet spot. It's a 12-episode TV series from studio C2C, adapted from a light novel, and the comedic tone keeps things moving without dragging. The whole premise of a protagonist thriving specifically because he got screwed over gives it a flavor that stands out in a crowded isekai landscape.

Quick Takes
View all 52 takesThis feels like a transition episode but with a dark turn. The emotions in this episode were intense, I didn't know Makoto has another side. The shift in tone feels rather abrupt given how light the story is in the past episodes. The final episode feels intense after watching this one.
I really like the lore exploration in this ep. Seeing the elf village, I like that it is visually distinct, and the characters introduced were interesting. The world building here is really satisfying. I like the Lich's backstory here, I pity him. Overall, the character writing here and the world building is excellent in this ep.
