Synopsis

In the year 0068 of the Universal Century, Casval Rem Deikun's life is thrown into chaotic disarray after the assassination of his father, a prolific figure in the crusade towards civil rights for people who live away from the Earth's surface. Casval and his sister Artesia receive aid from soldiers who were loyal to their father, and the siblings are whisked away from their home, separated, and thrown into a twisted fate that sees them come into their own as soldiers and adults. Years before stealing the name Char Aznable or his "Red Comet" moniker, Casval must contend with the rise of a militarized version of his father's ideology and his own vengeful nature as intergalactic war molds him into a legendary mobile suit pilot. I've finished watching The Origin. I finally understand the origins of Gundam. After this OVA, you can immediately continue watching the 1979 Gundam series. This OVA truly provides a different perspective from Char and the Zabi family. I understand that there is no single correct ideology, only the best ideology for all humanity without discrimination.

This time the pace fluctuates, and frankly, in some scenes I felt bored and couldn't focus anymore. The story itself is quite good but feels a bit messy because many scene changes feel rushed and out of line with the story. On the other hand, the soundtrack is no doubt, I really like it because it is truly a Gundam signature.

In this episode, Amuro and Fraw Bow get a lot of screen time. On the other hand, I don't understand why Ray, Amuro's father, didn't save Doctor Minovsky. In addition, it wasn't mentioned why Zeon changed its government system to a kingdom. Or maybe it was already mentioned but I didn't understand. And why Char ended up joining the Zeon forces to fight the Federation, it wasn't explained in detail either. Many questions arose after watching this episode.
