Dragon Ball GT: A Hero's Legacy
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Tough as nails and still carrying the weight of a legacy most people can barely imagine, Pan has lived long enough to bury everyone she ever fought beside — she stands as the last survivor of the original Dragon Ball Z crew. Her great-great-grandson, Goku Jr., could not be more different from the hero whose name he carries. He's timid, uncertain, and honestly kind of a pushover. Then Pan falls gravely ill, and this kid who's never thrown a real punch in his life decides to trek to Mount Paozu to find the four-star Dragon Ball, convinced it can save her. What follows is a one-episode TV special that strips away the world-ending stakes Dragon Ball usually trades in and tells something smaller — a story about a scared kid trying to figure out if courage is something you're born with or something you build. If you grew up with Dragon Ball and want a quieter, more personal corner of that universe, this lands differently than the main series. It has the same spirit as Naruto: The Lost Tower or Boruto: Naruto the Movie, where a new generation grapples with a legendary ancestor's shadow. The action is light, the comedy keeps things from getting too heavy, and the nostalgia hits hard when familiar locations show up. At just one episode, it's an easy watch that works whether you're a longtime fan needing closure or someone curious what Dragon Ball looks like when it slows down.
