Synopsis

A cat-eared princess from the planet Di Gi Charat, Dejiko gets shipped off to Earth because she keeps blasting her tutors with eye beams instead of paying attention in class. Her mother essentially says "go figure out how to be a proper princess somewhere else" and sends her, her quieter companion Puchiko, and a floating yellow ball named Gema crashing into a small Japanese town. From there, Dejiko ends up living with two brothers who run a toy shop, Puchiko moves in with an elderly couple next door who make traditional sweets, and the whole neighborhood slowly gets pulled into the chaos these two bring everywhere they go. There's also a rival idol named Rabi~en~Rose who shows up to make Dejiko's life more complicated, which Dejiko mostly handles through sheer stubbornness and occasional property damage. The series runs 104 episodes, so it's very much a slow, casual hang rather than a plot-driven experience — think slice-of-life with alien absurdity sprinkled in. Each episode is short and self-contained, built around small-town interactions and comedic misunderstandings. If you've watched Galaxy Angel or Lucky Star and wanted something even lighter and sillier, this fits that mood. Fans of Panyo Panyo Di Gi Charat will already know the characters, but Nyo works fine as a standalone. The chibi character designs and recurring speech quirks are part of the charm. It's low stakes and genuinely strange in the best way.
