📖 SYNOPSIS
Don't let his ordinary high school appearance fool you — Morihito Otogi is actually descended from ogres and has the ridiculous strength to prove it. His childhood friend Nico is a witch who's been away for years training in the Witches' Holy Land, and when she comes back, she picks him as her familiar — meaning he's now her protector and they're living under the same roof. Morihito isn't exactly thrilled about this arrangement, but he goes along with it because, well, it's Nico. The thing is, Nico's magic is wonderfully unreliable. Spells go sideways, potions do unexpected things, and Morihito ends up tanking the consequences with his ogre durability while trying to keep their lives from falling apart. The whole show runs on that dynamic — her chaotic energy and his long-suffering patience — and it works really well. There's no big villain arc or world-ending threat here. It's a 25-episode TV series that's content to just hang out with these two and the people around them, letting small magical mishaps drive genuinely funny situations. If you liked the cozy supernatural vibe of Flying Witch or the witch-and-familiar bickering from The Familiar of Zero, this hits a similar spot but with its own charm. It also has that warm Kiki's Delivery Service energy where magic feels woven into everyday life rather than dominating it. Bibury Animation Studios handles the adaptation, and the comedic timing lands consistently. A good pick if you want something light, funny, and easy to settle into.
