God Family
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Meet Samatarou Kamiyama — the literal son of God, capital G — who lives on Earth with his whole family so he can learn what it's like to be human before he eventually takes over the divine family business. His mom's a goddess, his sisters are goddess candidates, and he's got a guardian angel named Tenko who's been glued to his side since the day they were both born. Life's weird but manageable until a transfer student named Kumiko Komori shows up, and Samatarou catches feelings hard. The catch? He decides he's going to win her over without using any of his godly powers. No miracles, no divine intervention — just pure, awkward teenage effort. Tenko's supposed to help, but she's clearly not thrilled about playing wingman for reasons you can probably guess. This 13-episode TV series from Toei Animation has a warmth to it that sneaks up on you. It's mostly lighthearted — comedy and romance are the main drivers — but there's something genuinely endearing about watching a deity fumble through the same insecurities every teenager deals with. The divine family dynamics add a layer of absurdity that keeps things fresh. If you liked the god-among-humans energy of Noragami or the romantic comedy setup of Oh My Goddess!, this one fits right in that lane. It's also got a bit of The World God Only Knows DNA, where the supernatural premise is really just a vehicle for messy, human feelings. Short, sweet, and easy to finish in a weekend.
