📖 SYNOPSIS

There's only one thing Cid Kagenou wants out of life — to be a mysterious shadow ruler pulling strings from the darkness, and he spends every day playing the part. The joke is that everything he makes up on the spot turns out to be real, and his loyal followers think he's a genius mastermind when he's mostly just vibing. Season 2 picks up with Cid tagging along with his sister Claire to the Lawless City, a chaotic region run by three rulers: a spirit fox, a tyrant, and a dormant vampire queen called the Blood Queen. Claire wants to prove herself by hunting down the vampire. Cid just wants to grab some loot and look cool doing it. Naturally, his made-up shadow organization ends up at the center of everything again, and the city starts spiraling into real danger that Cid accidentally handles while thinking he's just playing pretend. This is a 12-episode TV series from Studio Nexus, and it keeps the same energy that made the first season work — action scenes that actually go hard, paired with comedy that comes from the gap between what Cid thinks is happening and what's actually happening. If you liked the power fantasy parody of Overlord or the isekai chaos of Konosuba, this hits a similar sweet spot. It's also got some of that same "overpowered protagonist who doesn't take anything seriously" energy as The Devil is a Part-Timer. The self-aware humor never gets old because Cid is genuinely committed to the bit.
