The Eminence in Shadow: Lost Echoes
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Cid Kagenou's entire life philosophy boils down to one thing: be the mysterious guy pulling strings from the shadows while everyone else takes the spotlight. After getting reincarnated into a fantasy world, he creates a secret organization called Shadow Garden and invents a fake evil cult to fight against — except the cult turns out to be completely real, and his made-up lore is accidentally accurate. This movie picks up after the second season, throwing Cid and his loyal (and mostly confused) followers into new conflicts against the Cult of Diablos. The joke that never stops being funny is that Cid genuinely thinks he's just LARPing while everyone around him treats him like a god-tier mastermind, and the gap between his self-perception and reality keeps escalating. Studio Nexus handles the action, and if the series is anything to go by, expect some genuinely impressive fight choreography mixed with moments where Cid does something absurdly overpowered and plays it off like it was nothing. The comedy lands because it commits to the bit — Cid's deadpan dedication to his "background character" act while casually reshaping the world around him is the whole engine of the show. If you liked the power fantasy satire of Overlord or the isekai humor of No Game No Life, this is in that same lane. Worth noting you should watch both seasons first — this is a direct continuation, not a standalone.
