After inadvertently weakening the world's psionic powers and unleashing demons, the overpowered Wang Ling must balance high school life with saving the world.

📖 SYNOPSIS

Essentially a god stuffed into a high schooler's body, Wang Ling is capable of ending civilizations without breaking a sweat, but all he really wants is to get through class, avoid attention, and maybe figure out his feelings for his classmate Sun Rong. That's the premise of this 12-episode ONA, and season 2 raises the stakes in a way that makes it worth coming back for.

After the events of season one, Wang Ling's meddling with the laws of nature has caused psionic energy levels across the world to tank. His spirit sword Jingke tries to fix things but accidentally rips open a spatial crack, and now demons are pouring through, draining the spiritual energy that keeps human society running. So Wang Ling has to deal with an interdimensional invasion while also surviving a teacher's home visit. The tonal whiplash is kind of the whole point.

Pb Animation leans into a distinctive visual style that blends traditional Chinese art motifs with clean modern animation, and the cultivation-based power system has more depth than you'd expect from something this comedic. The humor stays grounded in Wang Ling's deadpan desire to just be normal despite being absurdly overpowered.

If you enjoyed the gaming-world power fantasy of The King's Avatar or the mythology-heavy action in Ne Zha 2, this hits a similar space but with a more comedic, slice-of-life angle. It's a fun blend of school comedy and fantasy adventure that doesn't take itself too seriously.

✨ MUST WATCH IF...

You loved Season 1's comedy and want more overpowered Wang Ling gags in 12 episodes
A casual mix of high school slice-of-life and supernatural demon battles sounds fun
You don't need tight plot structure — this season's more episodic with filler-style arcs
The new demon invasion storyline and Jingke's space crack setup grab your attention

❌ SKIP IF...

You haven't finished Season 1 — this season's demon plot builds directly on Wang Ling's power tampering
Pb Animation's 3D integration feels rougher than Haoliners' Season 1 art style
New side characters and villains show up underdeveloped — tension stays flat with an OP protagonist
