The Daily Life of the Immortal King 5
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Give him about five seconds flat and Wang Ling could probably destroy the universe before breakfast, but all he really wants is to eat his snacks and get through high school without anyone noticing. That's been the running joke for four seasons of The Daily Life of the Immortal King, and season 5 throws a wrench into his quiet routine: he's got a little sister now. Wang Nuan shows up with powers she can't control, and Wang Ling — the guy who suppresses god-tier abilities just to blend in at school — has to play big brother and teach her how to not accidentally level a city block. Things get complicated when her strength draws the attention of a shady organization called Ye Kui and a dangerous prisoner named Bai Zhe, which means Wang Ling has to actually do something for once. This 12-episode ONA from Liyu Culture keeps the same mix of Chinese cultivation fantasy and mundane school comedy that's made the series work so well. The sibling dynamic adds a nice new layer without losing the deadpan humor. If you liked the overpowered-protagonist comedy of One Punch Man or the "just let me live a normal life" energy of Saiki K., this is in that same lane but filtered through donghua aesthetics and a cultivation power system. It's also a solid entry point vibe-wise if you enjoyed Mob Psycho 100's blend of absurd power and grounded emotional beats. Chill, funny, and occasionally surprisingly cool when the fights kick in.
