📖 SYNOPSIS
Erin is just ten years old when we meet her, living with her mother, Soyon, the best Touda doctor in a village devoted to raising war-lizards called Touda for the Grand Duke's army, and growing up fascinated by these dangerous creatures, watching and learning everything she can. Then something goes terribly wrong with the Grand Duke's strongest Touda, and Erin's quiet life falls apart in ways she never could have prepared for. Swept away from everything she knows, she ends up alone in a completely different region, and the rest of this 50-episode TV series follows her growing up, finding her place in a world where the relationship between humans and beasts is tangled up in politics, power, and ethical questions nobody wants to ask. The pacing is slow and deliberate — this isn't a show that rushes. It lets you sit with Erin as she learns, struggles, and gradually becomes someone remarkable. The world-building is genuinely rich, with its own history, creatures, and political tensions simmering beneath a fragile peace. If you liked Seirei no Moribito's patient storytelling and grounded fantasy, or the way Scrapped Princess weaves personal stakes into larger political conflicts, this hits a similar nerve. Production I.G co-animated it, and you can feel that care in how the world is rendered. It's emotional without being manipulative, and it respects your time even across 50 episodes. One of those quiet fantasy stories that stays with you.
