Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans 2nd Season
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Starting out as disposable child soldiers on Mars, Tekkadan clawed their way up to becoming a legitimate mercenary company with real backing. Season two picks up after that hard-won victory, and honestly, things only get more complicated. Orga Itsuka is trying to secure a future for his crew by partnering with Kudelia's new Admoss Company, which aims to make Mars economically independent from Earth. Sounds straightforward enough, except now Tekkadan has real enemies — political factions within Gjallarhorn are tearing each other apart, and every new alliance paints a bigger target on these kids' backs. What makes this season hit harder than the first is that the stakes feel genuinely personal. These aren't seasoned soldiers making calculated moves — they're young people in over their heads, making decisions with consequences they can't fully grasp. Mikazuki piloting the upgraded Gundam Barbatos Lupus gives you some of the most visceral mecha fights in recent memory, but the show never lets you forget the human cost behind every battle. The tone is heavy and emotional throughout this 25-episode run. Sunrise knew what they were doing here — the political intrigue has real teeth, and the drama doesn't pull punches. If you liked the morally gray war politics of Code Geass or the grounded mecha conflict in Aldnoah.Zero, this scratches a similar itch but with a rougher, more tragic edge. Fans of Gundam 00's ideological clashes will feel right at home too. Just be prepared — this one lingers.
