Synopsis

A squad of reckless, god-complex-having pilots with nothing left to lose decide they're going to end all war — by starting fights with every military on Earth. That's the premise of Gundam 00, and it's way more thoughtful than it sounds. Set in 2307 AD, fossil fuels are gone and three superpower blocs control massive orbital elevators that harvest solar energy. Nations without access to those elevators? They get left behind, which means constant conflict over scraps. Into this mess steps Celestial Being, a shadowy organization with four absurdly advanced mechs called Gundams, each piloted by someone carrying serious personal baggage. Setsuna F. Seiei is a former child soldier. Lockon Stratos hides grief behind charm. Allelujah and Tieria each have their own fractures that unfold slowly across the 25-episode run. What makes this one stick is the geopolitical layer — it's grounded in real-world energy politics and doesn't pretend the "heroes" are unambiguously right. The world pushes back hard against Celestial Being, and the show takes that tension seriously. Sunrise brought their A-game with the animation too; the mecha fights have real weight and tactical clarity. If you liked Code Geass for its morally gray protagonists challenging world powers, or Gundam Wing for the "small squad vs. the world" setup, this is in that lineage but with a more modern, polished execution. It earns its emotional beats without rushing them.

The Celestial Being is introduced in the episode. While Gundam Exia's entrance is the main spectacle of the show, the other gundam's excursions is still iconic even after more than 10 years. Gundam 00's first episode is still one of the best of all time.
This time, the one-on-one battle between Setsuna and Alejandro, and also Graham was depicted with excitement. However, the episode's downside was the rushed way it ended season 1 without any detailed explanation of the early lives of key characters several years after the battle.
I found this episode incredibly disappointing. I felt completely disconnected from the battle, lacking any real excitement. While there were certain deaths, their strong will to fight didn't resonate with me.It's a shame this episode didn't deliver its story to its full potential
