InuYasha the Movie 3: Swords of an Honorable Ruler
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Two legendary swords were left behind by Inuyasha's father — one for each of his sons. Tessaiga went to Inuyasha, Tenseiga to Sesshoumaru. Turns out, there was a third blade nobody talked about, and there's a reason it stayed buried. Sou'unga has been sitting quietly at Kagome's family shrine for 700 years, sealed away and forgotten. The moment it senses Inuyasha nearby, that changes fast. This movie drops you into one of the more interesting corners of InuYasha lore — the backstory of their father, Inu no Taishou, and what exactly he was dealing with when he was alive. Both brothers get pulled into the same crisis, which means the film leans hard into that complicated dynamic between Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru. If you've ever wanted to see those two forced into the same fight without either of them being happy about it, this delivers. The animation holds up well, and the action sequences feel bigger than the TV series budget usually allowed. If you liked the family-legacy storytelling in Bleach: The DiamondDust Rebellion or the brother conflict energy from Naruto Shippuden the Movie: Bonds, this hits similar notes but with a demon-sword mythology angle that's specific to InuYasha's world. You don't need to be deep into the series to follow it, but fans who've watched enough to care about Sesshoumaru will get a lot more out of it.
