Crest of the Stars: Birth
Oshimeter
Synopsis
The sharp-tongued Abh princess that fans of Crest of the Stars know and love didn't get that way by accident — and this TV special is the story of how that happened. Dubus, an Abh noble, and his partner Plakia are on what amounts to a honeymoon when they stumble across a derelict spaceship drifting in space. Nobody knows where it came from or what happened to it, and naturally they go investigate. What they find inside ends up shaping not just their relationship, but the decision to have a daughter and the name they'll give her. It's a quiet, romantic story wrapped around a mystery with genuine weight — the kind that recontextualizes things you already care about from the main series. If you've watched Crest of the Stars or Banner of the Stars and wondered about the people behind Lafiel, this is basically made for you. It adds texture to the Abh world without being a dry lore dump. Think of it less as a prequel episode and more as a character study told through an unexpected adventure. Fans of Legend of the Galactic Heroes who appreciate space opera that slows down to focus on people rather than battles will find something comfortable here. It's a single episode, so the time investment is low, but if you're already invested in this corner of the Seikai universe, it fills in a gap that genuinely matters.
