Children worldwide compete in B-Daman matches, fueled by rumors of a secret competition called "Cross Fight" that promises exclusive entry.

📖 SYNOPSIS

All Riki Ryugasaki wants is to become an explorer, but instead he stumbles into the world of B-Daman — a competitive marble-shooting game where customized figures battle it out in arena challenges. Sounds straightforward enough, except Riki's B-Daman, Thunder Dracyan, happens to be home to a mystical creature called a B-Animal, and that changes everything. Suddenly he's not just learning to aim marbles at targets — he's pulled into rumors of a secret tournament called Cross Fight, where only chosen B-Shots get to compete.

This is a 52-episode TV series from 2011 by SynergySP, and it sits comfortably in that toy-battle genre alongside Beyblade and Bakugan Battle Brawlers. The difference here is the blend of fantasy elements with the strategy side of things. You're not just watching kids spin tops or throw cards — there's actual customization and tactical thinking baked into how B-Daman battles play out. Think of it like Medabots in that regard, where the gear and setup matter as much as the player.

The tone stays engaging and adventurous without getting too heavy. Riki picks up friends and rivals along the way, especially Samuru Shigami, who brings a cool contrast as the more serious competitor. There's a genuine mystery thread running underneath about what the B-Animals actually are and why certain players are being selected for Cross Fight. If you grew up on competitive toy anime and want something with a bit more world-building layered in, this one delivers on that front pretty naturally.

Overall Ranking

✨ MUST WATCH IF...

You love toy-battle anime like Beyblade and want 52 episodes of B-Daman tournament action
Riki Ryugasaki's growth from rookie to top competitor sounds like your kind of shounen arc
SynergySP's colorful, vibrant animation style for battle sequences appeals to you
You're into collectible toy culture and don't mind anime that's built around merchandise

❌ SKIP IF...

You want deep storytelling — this follows a pretty standard kids' tournament formula throughout
Overt toy promotion in the narrative is a dealbreaker for you
52 episodes feels long when pacing slows down for filler-style character episodes mid-season
