📖 SYNOPSIS
"Wangan Midnight" follows Akio Asakura, a high school student who enters the world of street racing on Tokyo's Shuto Expressway, known as the "Wangan." After being defeated by Tatsuya Shima in his black Porsche 964 Turbo ("BlackBird"), Akio seeks to improve his driving. He discovers a pristine, midnight blue Fairlady Z (S30) in a junkyard, a car with a history of accidents and a powerful, tuned engine. The car's performance is due to a 3.1-liter L28 engine with twin turbos, producing 620bhp. The series focuses on Akio's encounters and his ongoing rivalry with the BlackBird, all set against the backdrop of the dangerous and high-speed street races on the Wangan, a freeway known for its long straights and heavy traffic. The story explores the risks and thrills of high-performance driving.
