Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Long before the blindfolded, untouchable legend of Jujutsu Kaisen earned his reputation, Gojo Satoru was just a cocky teenager with a best friend named Suguru Geto. This movie covers one of the most important arcs in the entire series — the Hidden Inventory arc — and it's basically the story of how everything went wrong. Young Gojo and Geto get assigned to protect a girl named Riko Amanai, who's been chosen as a "Star Plasma Vessel" for reasons tied to the jujutsu world's deeply messed-up power structure. Simple escort mission, right? Then Toji Fushiguro shows up — a guy with zero cursed energy who hunts sorcerers for a living — and things go sideways fast. The movie is really about watching two friends start on the same path and slowly realize they see the world completely differently. It's youthful and fun at first, then the tone shifts hard into something genuinely dark. MAPPA's animation is doing heavy lifting here, with fight sequences that hit on a level you'd expect from Demon Slayer's best moments. If you liked the bond between Naruto and Sasuke but wanted that dynamic explored with more moral ambiguity and less filler, this covers similar ground in a single movie. You don't strictly need to have seen the main series first, but it hits harder if you already know where Gojo and Geto end up. That dramatic irony is the whole point.
