Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun Season 2
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Haunting the girls' bathroom on Kamome Academy's third floor, a ghost named Hanako-kun carries a mischievous streak and a hidden past. Nene Yashiro is the lovesick high schooler who accidentally bound herself to him. Together they deal with the school's Seven Wonders — supernatural phenomena rooted in Japanese folklore that keep bleeding into the real world. Season 2 picks up with a new problem: there's a mysterious clock hidden somewhere in the academy that controls the flow of time, watched over by three keepers tied to past, present, and future. When something goes wrong, students start aging rapidly and the school literally begins falling apart around them. Nene, Hanako-kun, and their friend Kou Minamoto have to track down whoever broke things before it gets worse. The thing that makes this show stick is the art — Lerche leans hard into this vivid, almost storybook visual style with bold outlines and rich colors that you don't really see anywhere else. And underneath the playful humor and cute character moments, there's genuine emotional weight to Hanako's backstory and the relationships between the leads. If you liked the ghost romance vibes of Tasogare Otome x Amnesia or the supernatural school setting of Kemono Jihen, this hits a similar sweet spot. It's also got that same balance of comedy and heart you find in Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions, just with more folklore and fewer delusions. Twelve episodes, and the pacing stays tight throughout.
