Synopsis

Fushi is an immortal being who's lived through centuries of loss, watching everyone he loves die while he keeps going. Now, after sleeping for 500 years, he wakes up in modern-day Japan — think neon-lit cities, smartphones, middle schoolers, the whole thing. It's jarring, and that contrast between an ancient, grieving entity and a world of convenience stores and crosswalks is honestly what makes this season hit different. This is the third season of To Your Eternity, a 22-episode TV series picking up where Fushi tries to do something simple for once: live quietly. He brings back the spirits of old friends — March, Gugu, Bon — giving them new bodies so they can experience the modern world alongside him. But the Nokkers, those parasitic enemies that have haunted him for ages, haven't been idle. They've adapted too, weaving themselves into society and closing in on Mizuha, a middle school girl tied to Fushi's history through the Hayase bloodline. The emotional weight this series carries is cumulative. Every reunion, every quiet moment between Fushi and his companions, lands harder because of everything that came before. If you liked the meditative, bittersweet tone of Mushishi or the way Natsume's Book of Friends handles loneliness and connection, this operates in similar territory — just with higher stakes and a persistent threat lurking beneath ordinary life. There's also a thread of mystery reminiscent of Erased, where danger hides in plain sight among everyday people. It's a slow burn, but it earns every moment.

A perfect finale. This episode beautifully closes the loop on identity and humanity. Seeing the final tributes from his companions was a total sad moment, proving how far he’s come from being just an orb. Emotional episdoe, get a tissue for this one.

After all the chaos, seeing Fushi and the squad just exist in the modern world is surprisingly moving. The domestic vibes in Stay Here contrast so well with the trauma of previous arcs.

Seeing them navigate the boring, scary reality of modern law enforcement while literal Nokkers exist was a great touch. The decision to stay at Yuki's really emphasized that Fushi isn't just fighting monsters anymore he's learning to live in a world with rules.
