EPISODE CONTEXT
Episode 1 established Maou's fish-out-of-water premise and his adjustment to human life in Sasazuka; this second episode introduces the critical Maou-Emi dynamic that will drive much of the season's conflict and comedy. By bringing the Hero directly into the Devil's orbit, it sets up the evolving relationship and supernatural complications that escalate across the remaining eleven episodes. It's an essential foundation episode that defines the show's central character tensions early.
