EPISODE CONTEXT
Picking up from the destabilization introduced in 'Strain' (episode 16), where the Shapes began dismantling Lux's already fragile order, 'Dependence' amplifies that collapse and forces key players into increasingly untenable positions. With only five episodes remaining, this sits firmly in the series' endgame escalation, where factional conflicts and philosophical tensions are converging toward a point of no return. It directly sets the stage for 'Throne' (episode 18), which continues unraveling the consequences of the city's descent.
