EPISODE CONTEXT
Positioned at roughly the three-quarter mark, 'Strain' follows 'Shapes,' which introduced mysterious destabilizing forces into Lux's already fragile order, and deepens every fracture that episode exposed. This is the calm before the storm phase — characters are forced into corners, alliances are tested, and the city's deterioration becomes undeniable. It directly sets the table for 'Dependence,' where the simmering tensions here erupt into more overt confrontation.
