Step Up Love Story
Oshimeter
Synopsis
When Makoto and Yura Onoda tie the knot at 25, both are completely inexperienced. Neither of them really knows what they're doing, and instead of glossing over that awkwardness, this 4-episode OVA leans into it completely. Yura is shy and gets flustered by basically everything, while Makoto has a very active imagination but zero practical knowledge to back it up. Watching these two adults fumble through the early days of married intimacy is genuinely funny in a way that feels honest rather than mean-spirited. What makes this stand out from the usual ecchi fare is that it actually treats its characters like adults navigating something real. There's no high school setting, no contrived harem nonsense — just two people figuring each other out. The show also sneaks in some surprisingly informative content alongside the comedy, which gives it a slightly educational edge you don't really expect. If you liked Yamada's First Time: B Gata H Kei for its candid and comedic take on sexual inexperience, this covers similar territory but from a married adult perspective, which makes the emotional stakes feel grounded. Fans of To LOVE-Ru Darkness who want something with more character substance and less chaos might find this a refreshing change of pace. It's a short watch, adapted from a long-running manga by Chaos Project, and it doesn't overstay its welcome. The tone stays comedic and warm throughout, never punching down at the characters for not having everything figured out.
