STAND BY ME Doraemon 2
Oshimeter
Synopsis
When Nobita stumbles across an old teddy bear that belonged to his late grandmother, he's hit with this wave of missing her. So he does what any kid with a time-traveling robotic cat would do — he asks Doraemon to take him back to see her one more time. The reunion is genuinely sweet, but then his grandmother makes a simple request: she wants to meet his future bride. Nobita, being Nobita, agrees without thinking it through and hops into the time machine headed for the future. Problem is, when they arrive at his wedding day, adult Nobita is nowhere to be found. Now he and Doraemon have to figure out what went wrong and make sure the ceremony actually happens, bouncing across timelines trying to fix things. This is the sequel to the 2014 Stand By Me Doraemon movie, and it keeps the same gorgeous 3D CG animation style that makes the classic characters feel fresh without losing what makes them work. But the real draw here is the emotional core — it's a story about family, growing up, and the people we wish we could see again. The theme song 'Niji' by Masaki Suda ties it all together perfectly. If you've cried during Your Name or felt that bittersweet ache watching The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, this one hits similar notes. It's aimed at kids, but the themes about loss and connection land regardless of age. A warm, funny, quietly moving film.
