EPISODE CONTEXT
Sitting roughly one-fifth into the 64-episode run, Episode 13 serves as the gateway between setup and the main event. The preceding episodes established Yoh's world, allies, and motivation, with Episode 12 specifically building toward the Shaman Fight qualification — this episode delivers on that buildup by introducing the Over Soul mechanic that will define combat for the rest of the series. Everything from here forward shifts into tournament territory, with rivalries and escalating threats taking center stage.
