📖 SYNOPSIS
Once the most feared hitman alive, Tarou Sakamoto is now an overweight convenience store owner in suburban Tokyo, living quietly with his wife Aoi and daughter Hana. The problem is, someone just put a massive bounty on his head, and every assassin in the business wants to collect. Part 2 of this TV series picks up right where things left off — a shadowy figure called Slur has unleashed a squad of death row inmates across Japan, each one targeting Sakamoto or people close to him. These aren't your average hired guns either; they're genuinely unhinged. So Sakamoto has to dust off his skills while still trying to keep his family safe and his store running.
What makes this 11-episode run work is how the fights play out. Sakamoto turns grocery store shelves, mops, shopping carts — basically anything within arm's reach — into weapons, and TMS Entertainment animates it all with a fluid, kinetic style that really captures the manga's sense of spatial choreography. The opening track 'Method' by Kroi sets the tone perfectly: funk-rock energy that matches the show's mix of real danger and genuine comedy.
If you liked the retired-killer-domestic-life vibe of The Way of the Househusband but wanted actual high-stakes action, or if John Wick's resourceful combat appeals to you, or if Spy x Family's balance of family warmth and espionage tension is your thing — Sakamoto Days threads that same needle with a lot of style.
