Most of the main couple's interactions were hard to watch, (especially Kazuya, who's always bashful anf has his mind elsewhere) Although admittedly this episode had some good progression in their relationship after hinting at it for so long.
Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 5
Oshimeter
Synopsis
After getting dumped by his girlfriend, Kazuya Kinoshita rents a girlfriend through an app in a moment of desperate loneliness. That girlfriend is Chizuru Mizuhara — beautiful, charming, and absolutely not interested in him beyond the transaction. Except life keeps throwing them together, lies pile up, and now his entire family thinks they're dating for real. By the time Season 5 rolls around, you're deep into the mess these two have built for themselves. Kazuya is still Kazuya — awkward, overthinking everything, occasionally cringe in ways that make you want to look away — but there's genuine growth buried under the anxiety spirals. Chizuru remains guarded, and watching her walls slowly crack is honestly the main draw. This season picks up with their relationship in an increasingly complicated place, and the tension between what they say and what they actually feel keeps tightening. The comedy hits when it needs to, but the quieter emotional beats are what stick with you. TMS Entertainment handles the adaptation, and the production has stayed consistent across seasons. If you liked the slow-burn romantic tension in Toradora or the fake-relationship setup of Nisekoi, this scratches a similar itch — though it takes its time getting there, fair warning. Fans of Saekano will also appreciate the harem dynamics and how each girl challenges Kazuya differently. It's messy, it's frustrating, and you'll keep watching anyway.

Quick Takes
View all 63 takesDude how in the lord's name does Kazuya make Yaemori blush by mulling over another girl wtf. Son im crine
Glad they are addressing how Chizuru feels about their weird situation, it's really apparent how much Kazuya cares about her because of his entire sequence during their three-month break. It was a little hard watching him like that though, I felt as pathetic as him..
