Tune In to the Midnight Heart
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Every night, a lonely kid named Arisu Yamabuki tuned into a mysterious radio broadcast hosted by someone called Apollo. Her voice was the one thing that got him through some rough times — and then one day, she just vanished. No goodbye, no explanation, nothing. Years later, Arisu is a second-year in high school, and he still hasn't forgotten. He transfers to Kaedebayashi High and joins the broadcasting club, convinced that Apollo might be connected to someone there. What he finds instead are four girls, each chasing a different dream in the entertainment world — one wants to be an announcer, another a voice actress, one's aiming for a singing career, and the last wants to host her own radio show. Any of them could be Apollo. Or none of them. The fun is in watching Arisu try to figure it out while genuinely helping each girl work toward her goals, all wrapped in that warm comedic-romantic energy where every interaction matters. The showbiz angle gives it more texture than your average school romance — you actually learn about broadcasting, voice work, and what it takes to put yourself out there. If you liked the mystery-girl dynamic of The Quintessential Quintuplets or the identity-guessing tension of Nisekoi, this hits a similar sweet spot. Gekkou's adapting the manga into a 12-episode TV series dropping in 2026, so it should be a tight, focused watch without a lot of filler dragging things down.
