Reborn as a Cat
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Everything that could go wrong in Miaomiao's week does — spectacularly. Betrayed by a friend, drowning in debt, and running from collectors, she falls off a building — and instead of dying, gets turned into a cat by some mysterious figure. Already a rough deal, but here's the kicker: she gets adopted by her own boss, Lu Chengze, the reserved guy she's been working under. Now she's living in his apartment, seeing a completely different side of him, and trying to figure out how to survive 100 days in this form before... well, that part's still unclear. This 36-episode ONA from Paper Plane Animation Studio leans into the romantic side of things without rushing it. There's genuine charm in watching Miaomiao process her feelings for someone who has no idea he's talking to his employee while she kneads biscuits on his couch. The workplace dynamics hit differently when one person is literally a house cat. The supernatural framing gives everything a ticking-clock tension — she's got 100 days, and the show doesn't let you forget it. If you liked the emotional warmth of Fruits Basket or the cozy transformation vibes of The Cat Returns, this scratches a similar itch. It's got some of that Nyan Koi energy too, where the cat premise sounds goofy but actually carries real weight. The romance is slow-burn, the tone stays gentle, and the concept is just weird enough to work.
