Aspiring Prism Stars Aira and Rizumu compete in the dazzling Prism Show, aiming to become the ultimate Prism Queen through singing, fashion, and impressive ice-skating techniques.

📖 SYNOPSIS

Meet Aira Harune: a fashion-obsessed middle schooler who can barely walk without tripping, yet she somehow gets recruited to become a Prism Star — a performer who figure skates, sings, and dances all at once while wearing outfits powered by magical gemstones. The whole concept sounds ridiculous on paper, and the show knows it, but it commits so hard that you just go with it. Alongside her is Rizumu Amamiya, a hot-headed girl chasing the legendary Aurora Rising jump that her mother once pulled off, and their dynamic carries the early episodes. One's all about the fashion, the other's all about the athleticism, and watching them push each other forward is genuinely satisfying. This is a 51-episode TV series from Tatsunoko Production, so it has room to breathe — the character arcs build slowly, and by the time things get emotionally heavy, you're already invested. The Prism Show sequences themselves are surprisingly well-animated, blending CG skating with traditional idol performance in a way that felt fresh back in 2011 and still holds up. If you liked Aikatsu Stars or Kiratto Pri☆Chan, this is the show that helped lay the groundwork for that whole wave of idol-competition anime. Fans of Mermaid Melody who want something with more sports DNA will find a lot to like here too. It's warm, it's earnest, and the friendship at its core gives it real staying power.

✨ MUST WATCH IF...

You love idol anime that mixes figure skating, fashion coordination, and fantastical Prism Jumps
Aira's growth from clumsy nobody to confident Prism Star across 51 episodes sounds rewarding
Friendship-and-rivalry dynamics between Aira and Rizumu are the kind of thing you're here for
You enjoy kids' anime that gradually deepens—emotional stakes ramp up significantly in the second half

❌ SKIP IF...

Tatsunoko's early-episode animation looks stiff with clunky CGI dance sequences—that's a dealbreaker
You're not into predictable storylines that lean on familiar idol-show tropes throughout
A 51-episode commitment for a fashion-and-skating premise feels way too long for you
