Synopsis
At 14 years old, Kirari Tsukishima's entire world revolves around food. Idols, celebrities, the entertainment industry — none of it registers for her. That changes when she rescues a turtle stuck in a tree and meets a boy named Seiji, who turns out to be far more than he appears. One rude encounter at a concert gate later, Kirari decides she's going to close the gap between her ordinary life and his extraordinary one by becoming an idol herself. Not because she dreamed of stardom — because she's stubborn and a little chaotic and that's just how she operates. The series follows her stumbling, determined path through an industry that has no idea what to do with her. It's comedic and warm, with enough romance and drama woven in to keep things grounded. What makes it genuinely interesting is that real-life idol Koharu Kusumi voices Kirari and performs the songs, which gives the whole idol storyline an authenticity that similar shows don't quite have. If you enjoyed Full Moon wo Sagashite or Yumeiro Pâtissière, the tone here sits in familiar territory — lighthearted and emotional in equal measure. And if Skip Beat got you interested in the idea of someone clawing their way into showbiz through sheer personality rather than talent, Kirari's journey scratches that same itch, just with a softer edge and a lot more enthusiasm about snacks.
