EPISODE CONTEXT
Coming off the pressure and stakes of Kirari's audition experiences in Episode 16, this episode deliberately shifts gears into lighter, summer-flavored territory. It functions as a palette cleanser that reinforces Kirari's core personality traits before the show moves into a more relaxed vacation storyline in Episode 18, where Kirari spends time with friends Sayaka and Miku. At Episode 17 of 153, the series is still firmly in its character-establishment phase, using event-driven episodes like this one to build out the idol world around Kirari.
