Following the dramatic events of the previous arc, the young idols and actors navigate the complexities of the entertainment industry, pursuing their individual goals.

📖 SYNOPSIS

Every dance move is nailed, every audience is charmed, and every camera flash is sold flawlessly — but underneath all of it, Ruby Hoshino is hunting for the person who destroyed her family. That's the tension at the heart of Oshi no Ko's third season, and it makes everything feel like it's balanced on a knife's edge.

Six months after the events of the movie arc, B-Komachi is finally on the verge of breaking through thanks to Mem-cho's hustle. Aqua's carving out his own space as a TV personality. Akane's quietly leveling up as an actress. But Kana — usually the loudest person in any room — has gone weirdly quiet, and the shift is unsettling. Meanwhile, Ruby has figured out that the entertainment industry runs on lies, and she's decided to use that to her advantage as she digs deeper into the truth behind Ai and Gorou's deaths.

This season from Doga Kobo leans hard into the drama side of things across its 11 episodes. If you liked the psychological unraveling in Perfect Blue or the way Re:Zero uses its supernatural premise to explore genuinely dark character moments, this hits a similar nerve. The reincarnation hook is still there, but at this point the show is really about what people are willing to sacrifice when ambition and grief get tangled together. Your Lie in April fans will recognize that ache underneath the surface-level sparkle. It's a seinen drama dressed in idol clothes, and the mask is starting to crack.

✨ MUST WATCH IF...

Ruby takes center stage this season — her darker path using lies is the main draw
You finished Season 2 and want the investigation into Ai and Gorou's deaths to heat up
Kana's emotional arc gets real focus here — she's lost her spark and it's a different vibe
Doga Kobo keeps the production consistent — same studio, tighter at 11 episodes vs Season 2's 13

❌ SKIP IF...

You haven't finished Season 2 — Ruby's motives and Aqua's growth won't make sense at all
You're expecting action or idol performances — this season leans heavily into drama and mystery
You'd rather read the manga — this arc reportedly plays better in its original format
