One: Kagayaku Kisetsu e - True Stories

Synopsis
In 1998, a regular high school kid named Kōhei Orihara goes to class, hangs out with friends, and lives the kind of quietly uneventful life that feels permanent. Then something starts pulling at the edges of it. He begins slipping into what the story calls the 'Eternal World,' a mysterious alternate space that bleeds into his everyday reality like fog creeping under a door. The more it encroaches, the more he starts noticing what he's been taking for granted — the familiar faces, the small routines, and a childhood friend named Mizuka who's been right there the whole time. This 3-episode OVA from Arms is adapted from the 1998 visual novel that, alongside Kanon and Air, helped shape the emotional blueprint for that whole era of romance-driven storytelling. If you've watched Kanon or Clannad and responded to that blend of quiet daily life slowly giving way to something heartbreaking and strange, this scratches a similar itch. It's slower and more intimate than those titles, leaning heavily into atmosphere and character interiority rather than dramatic plot twists. Fair warning: this is a hentai OVA, so it carries that territory with it. But the core of it is genuinely rooted in the source material's preoccupation with memory, connection, and the fear of disappearing from the lives of people who matter to you. If early visual novel adaptations with melancholic supernatural undertones appeal to you, this is a quiet, earnest entry in that lineage.
