EPISODE CONTEXT
Coming off Episode 2's exploration of Mikako and Tsutomu's close but platonic dynamic, this episode begins nudging that comfort zone — Tsutomu's interactions with Mariko introduce the first real friction into their bond, prompting Mikako to reckon with feelings she hasn't had to name before. At just Episode 3 of 50, it's an early but deliberate escalation, and it directly sets the stage for Episode 4, 'The One in Love Has Already Lost!', where those unspoken tensions will push further toward the surface.
