EPISODE CONTEXT
Three episodes in, Negima!? is still laying its magical groundwork. The previous episode introduced the Probationary Contract concept, and this one cashes in on that setup by showing what it actually means for Negi and his students going forward. It's an early-season episode that trades heavily on exposition dressed up as comedy, and the partnerships it establishes here will ripple through the rest of the 26-episode run.
