As the first of twelve episodes, 'Negative Angler' exists purely as foundation — establishing Tsunehiro Sasaki's emotional rock bottom and the key relationships that will define the season's arc. There's nothing before it, so the episode carries the full burden of tone-setting, world-building, and introducing the central tension between despair and the possibility of renewal. Everything introduced here — Tsunehiro's mindset, the fishermen he encounters — is scaffolding for a transformation arc that the remaining eleven episodes will build upon.
