EPISODE CONTEXT
Episode 289 continues the filler thread of encounters with the reanimated Seven Ninja Swordsmen, directly following Episode 288's Kakashi and Guy battle against Jinpachi and Kushimaru. This episode closes out that particular stretch by shifting focus to Omoi's squad. It serves as the final standalone war-adjacent filler before the 'Power' arc kicks off in Episode 290 with an entirely new storyline.
