EPISODE CONTEXT
Following 'Surpassing the Master' (Episode 156), which focused on intelligence gathering and preparation, Episode 157 marks the violent transition from anticipation to action as the invasion begins in earnest. This is a critical canon turning point roughly a third of the way through the series, launching one of Shippuden's most consequential arcs and setting the stage for the intense confrontations and character-defining battles that follow in the coming episodes.
