Synopsis

A summer training camp in the woods sounds like a wholesome school trip for Deku and his classmates — until the League of Villains shows up and turns everything sideways. That's the setup for My Hero Academia Season 3, and it's where the series really stops pulling its punches. The first chunk of this 25-episode TV series is all about the students pushing their Quirks to the limit under pro hero supervision — think creative power training montages where everyone's figuring out new ways to use abilities they've barely scratched the surface of. Then the villain attack hits, and suddenly these kids who were doing mock battles are fighting for their lives. Studio Bones goes hard on the animation here, and some of the fights in this season are genuinely the best the series has produced. There's a specific showdown later on that people still talk about years after it aired, and the buildup to it earns every second. What keeps it grounded is that the stakes feel personal. Characters you've spent two seasons getting attached to are in real danger, and the fallout from this arc reshapes the whole world of the show. If you liked the energy of Mob Psycho 100 or the power scaling in One Punch Man but want something with a larger ensemble cast and real consequences, this is the season where My Hero Academia proves it belongs in that conversation. The 2018 run holds up well.

This episode of My Hero Academia is very emotional because of how it constantly shifts tone. It starts with Class A arguing, then quickly turns serious when Izuku Midoriya receives bad news from the doctor, but still decides to push forward and save Katsuki Bakugo.

What makes it stand out is how it mixes emotions so smoothly. The teamwork when the others join Midoriya shows how much they care about each other, and it makes the mission feel more personal and high-stakes.

Then the disguise moment brings a rare bit of humour, which makes the episode feel lighter for a moment before it shifts again into tension with U.A. being criticised by the media after the incident.

It ends on a strong emotional note, with Bakugo rejecting the villains and still standing by who he is. Overall, it’s an episode that balances sadness, tension, and character growth really well, and it definitely keeps you invested.

The Provisional License Exam kicks off with high tension! The "Crushing of UA" strategy shows how vulnerable Class 1-A is when their quirks are public knowledge. It’s an intense start that forces the students to think fast under pressure. Solid action and great pacing.

Amajiki's SO me 😭 He's so awkward, I like him already. This episode really gave a good introduction to the Big Three and also a great setup for the next season. I feel like the next season's gonna be more exciting!
