Raised as a servant in her own home, Miyo Saimori has known nothing but cruelty from the family that should protect her. Through the evening, she meets new people, learns things about her family's past, and slowly starts building the kind of connections she was never allowed to have. The whole thing is set in this gorgeous alternate Taishō-era Japan where supernatural powers exist alongside traditional aesthetics, and Kinema Citrus nails the visual atmosphere. If you liked the emotional healing arc in Fruits Basket or the quiet, earned tenderness of Kimi ni Todoke, this hits similar notes. It's a romance built on two damaged people learning to trust each other, and this OVA is a nice extension of that journey.
