EPISODE CONTEXT
Coming directly off 'Spider Lady,' which thrust Nanoka and Mao into an active yokai confrontation, this third episode pivots inward — trading external threats for personal excavation. It functions as a connective episode, using the breathing room after that clash to deepen the mythology around Mao's curse and Nanoka's own unexplained abilities. The groundwork laid here is clearly building toward larger revelations later in the series.
