EPISODE CONTEXT
Building directly on Saya Tokido's introduction in Episode 1, this second episode deepens the Riki-Saya partnership and expands the scope of their underground treasure hunt. It functions as the arc's escalation point, establishing the Darkness Executives as antagonists and raising the stakes before Episode 3, 'Executives of Darkness,' pushes the confrontation further. At episode two of eight, EX is still in setup mode, but the foundation being laid here is critical to the payoffs ahead.
