EPISODE CONTEXT
Arriving just past the halfway point of Part 4's 39-episode run, this episode marks the definitive pivot from Morioh's episodic Stand-of-the-week format into a sustained, antagonist-driven narrative. The preceding arcs — including Yukako's Cinderella encounter and various standalone battles — served to build out the town and its cast, and now that groundwork pays off as Yoshikage Kira enters the picture. This two-parter sets the foundation for nearly everything that follows, establishing the central conflict that will drive the back half of Diamond Is Unbreakable.
