EPISODE CONTEXT
Coming off episode one's hints at Kiba's troubled history, this second installment fully commits to the Holy Sword arc by introducing the key players and conflicts that will dominate the season's first half. The appearance of Irina and Xenovia establishes the Church faction as a major force, complicating alliances and loyalties within the core group. Everything here feeds directly into episode three, 'I'll Destroy the Holy Sword!', where the tensions seeded in this episode are set to erupt into open confrontation.
