Good Morning Call
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Nao Yoshikawa's parents relocate, prompting her to move into her own apartment excited for some independence — then she discovers her popular, standoffish classmate Hisashi Uehara is living there too. They were both scammed into the same place, neither can afford to back out, and breaking up their arrangement means word getting around school. So they keep it secret and figure out how to share a space with someone they barely know. This single OVA episode picks up a year into that arrangement, by which point they're actually a couple. The tension has shifted from 'how do we hide this' to the quieter, more relatable kind — Nao is stressing over Uehara's upcoming birthday and realizes she completely missed it. It's a small, low-stakes story about two people who genuinely care about each other but still fumble the ordinary stuff. Production I.G gives it a clean, warm look that fits the shoujo source material well. If you've watched Marmalade Boy or something like Tokyo Marble Chocolate and wanted a shorter, breezy slice of that same youthful romance energy, this lands in similar territory. It's not trying to be a grand love story — it's more like a quiet afternoon episode that reminds you why you liked the characters in the first place. At one episode, it asks almost nothing of you, and it delivers exactly what it promises.
