Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 4
Oshimeter
Synopsis
For three full seasons, Kazuya Kinoshita has been paying a rental girlfriend company to spend time with the girl he's actually in love with. If that sounds painfully relatable in the worst way possible, welcome to Rent-a-Girlfriend. Season 4 picks up after Kazuya's crowdfunded movie project, and he's finally working up the nerve to tell Chizuru how he really feels — except the whole crew ends up in Hawaii, and things get messy fast. Ruka's still clinging to her claim on Kazuya, Mami's still stirring the pot, and Chizuru remains impossible to read. The Hawaii setting gives this season a different visual energy, and TMS Entertainment makes the most of it with some genuinely pretty scenery work alongside the usual expressive character animation. What keeps this show interesting despite Kazuya being, well, Kazuya, is that you can actually track his growth across four seasons. He's still awkward and overthinks everything, but the guy is trying. The romance moves at a pace that will feel familiar if you've watched Nisekoi or Toradora — lots of buildup, lots of near-misses, occasional moments that actually land. If you liked Saekano's blend of self-aware comedy and genuine emotional stakes with its harem setup, this hits a similar frequency. The soundtrack pairs well too, with ClariS handling the opening. It's 12 episodes, it knows what it is, and if you've made it through three seasons, this is where things start paying off.
